For the 2025 season we will offer a Mascot squad for our youngest athletes ages 4-6 entering grades TK-1st with no cheer experience. This team will be similar to our recreational squads and will focus on fun and fundamentals. Mascot registration does not include tumbling but will include their UNIFORM, the mascot uniform is a Red JJM tank, Black flouncy skirt and bow. Athletes will also be provided with a practice T Shirt. Mascot squads will practice July 14-Aug 9 Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6-7:30 at Jesuit High School. Starting the week of August 11th they will practice Wednesday and Thursday nights from 6-7:30 at Jesuit High School. Mascot squad will cheer for the Jr Pee Wee team (games typically 10-12 on Saturday) and will perform a showcase routine at the SAC league competition in November.
For the 2025 season our Jr Pee Wee and Pee Wee Squads will be recreational teams. All athletes make the team (we do not do cuts) and will be placed on the squad that best matches their age, grade, and ability. Recreational teams are open to athletes age 6-11. The recreational team registration includes a practice T shirt, 3 bows (game day, competition, breast cancer) and 12 sessions of offsite tumbling. Recreational teams begin practice on July 14, 2025. Recreational squads will practice July 14-Aug 9 Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6-7:30 at Jesuit High School with offsite tumbling on Tuesday evenings. Starting the week of August 11th they will go to tumbling Tuesday evenings and practice Wednesday and Thursday nights from 6-7:30 at Jesuit High School. Jr Pee Wee squad will cheer for the Pee Wee team (games typically 12-2 on Saturday). Pee Wee squad will cheer for the Jr Midget team (games typically 2-4 on Saturday)and will perform a showcase routine at the SAC league competition in November.
Competitive team tryouts will occur June 1, 2025. While cheer is open to everyone the competitive team will have a higher skill and commitment expectation. Competitive athletes are expected to have mastered all beginning tumbling skills (front/back roll, round off, cartwheel, front and back walkovers preferred), and be working towards front/back handsprings. Competitive athletes will also be expected to have intermediate stunting skills (prep lib, 1/2 up extension prep, 1/4 cradle). The competitive team will attend more competitions throughout the JJM season, have longer practices, and will require a higher level of commitment and focus from cheerleaders and their families. For the 2025 season the competitive team will be at the JR Midget level and is open to athletes 9 years and older. The competitive squad registration will not include tumbling, however athletes are expected to take tumbling classes outside of practice times. Practice schedules will be given after tryouts. This team will cheer for the Midget team (games typically Saturdays 4-6) and will attend multiple competitions in the Sacramento area during the season. Registration for this team is $600.
*Tumbling clinics will be held offsite and times may vary. All other practices are held at Jesuit High School on football practice fields.
