JJM Cheer FAQ's

Who Can cheer?

JJM cheer is open to athletes age 5-14 (based on age June 15th, no high school students) with any experience level. Divisions are based on athlete's age and skill. We offer two types of teams-recreational and competitive. Our recreational teams focus on cheer instruction and athlete development. Our competitive team(s) is for the more experienced athlete. There are no tryouts for recreational teams, competitive team tryout(s) are held in May.

Click here for more information on cheer divisions and squads.

Cheer is a team sport and every athlete serves a valuable role.  We recommend athletes do not play other sports during the cheer season.  Athlete's missing practices and/or games impact other athlete's ability to practice and perform.

When is cheer season?

Cheer season runs July- November.

Practice schedules can be found here.

Cheerleaders perform sideline and a halftime show at all games. Games start in August and can continue into November based on playoffs. Games are typically on Saturdays, game time depends on athlete's division.

Recreational cheer will showcase at the SAC league competition held in November and competitive cheer will attend 2-3 competitions during the season.
